This collection focuses on how American themes and concepts manifest in my world. I have spent the past year reflecting back on what the American experience is for me, and now I have demonstrated that through photography. In my history class this year, we have spent our time exploring the beginning of America and how the founding concepts of American freedom and liberty were paradoxical when they were created. With my book, I want to get into how our own personal identities entangle with our American identities, and how we respond to America and vice versa. I am doing this because in these times of such immense polarization and distraught, it is important that we examine our relationship with our home– the good, the bad, and the ugly.
